How to play Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is a one-player game with a 52-card deck. Build four same-suit foundations from Ace to King to win. Varaq uses draw-one stock with unlimited passes.
How is the deal set up?
Deal seven columns containing one through seven cards, with only the top card of each column face up. The remaining 24 cards form the stock; four foundations start empty. No Jokers are used.
What are Varaq’s house rules?
Build the four foundations from Ace to King, one suit per pile. On the seven columns, build down in alternating colors. Move any exposed descending run together. Only a King or a run starting with a King can fill an empty column. Draw one card at a time; recycle the waste as often as you like. Aces count low.
Removing exposed cards automatically reveals the top hidden card in that column. You may also move a foundation’s top card back to a legal tableau column.
Where can the red Seven go?
A red Seven fits on a black Eight. Tableau runs descend by one and alternate red and black.

Which heart starts the empty foundation?
An Ace starts its suit’s foundation. Add 2, 3 and onward to King, always in the same suit.
Which card can move into the empty column?
Only a King, or a run starting with a King, can occupy an empty tableau column.
Where can this Queen–Jack run go?
Choose the Queen to move both cards onto the black King. Drag the run or tap its first card and destination.
What does tapping the stock do?
It reveals one card to the waste. Only the top waste card is available. Recycle the empty stock as often as you like. Undo includes draws; some deals are unwinnable.
How do taps, dragging and keyboard controls work?
Tap a card, then a destination or partner. Tap a selected card again to send it to a foundation or clear a King. Tab and Enter work too; Escape or the empty background cancels selection. Undo remembers the last 100 moves, including draws and redeals. Hints use visible cards and do not guarantee a solution. Random deals may be unwinnable.
On compact screens, Cards opens larger card choices. To practise, open the game and choose How to play from the menu for five interactive lessons.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
You can play free in your browser without an account. An internet connection is needed to send moves to the server.
Is every deal winnable?
No. Deals are random and may be unwinnable. Hints use visible cards and do not guarantee a solution; use Undo, restart the same deal, or start a new one.
